Founder & Engineer
Clay Sultz
I build software, network infrastructure, and the hardware beneath it. I prefer ownership over abstraction, working directly with the systems so I control the variables and understand the full stack.
Work
A mix of roles I've held and the projects I've built and shipped.
ExperienceSince 2024
-
IT Analyst Intern
Jul 2025 - PresentExecutive Construction Inc. · Hillside, IL
I set up and deploy workstation hardware for new hires with standardized builds and asset tracking, hold the line on cable management, and act as a first point of contact for hardware and software support.
-
IT Intern
Jun-Aug 2024Advanced Data Technology · Naperville, IL
I helped rack, cable, and configure Cisco Meraki network gear and Axis IP cameras with NVRs at client sites, and worked tickets to track down hardware and user issues in the field.

Dusq
A mobile cloud gaming platform built for hyper-efficient performance. It streams real game sessions to any Chrome browser or Chromebook and is engineered to serve thousands of daily users from dense, GPU-shared infrastructure.

Shadow Browser
A proxy and virtual browser for secure, encrypted, uncensored access to the open web, with nothing leaking to the network in between. It has grown past 6.5 million users all-time and 35,000 daily, with a full-stack app and a move off Oracle Cloud onto dedicated hosting behind Caddy to stay fast under load.

FreeMinecraftHost
Backend infrastructure for a free Minecraft hosting service. Server provisioning runs on Pterodactyl and Docker with per-user resource budgets, PHP and JavaScript bridges feed live status APIs into a React frontend, and routine Linux patching and log monitoring keep it available.

Instagram Focus
An Android app that rebuilds Instagram as a focus tool. It keeps DMs, stories, and posts from people you actually follow, and quietly strips out the parts engineered to keep you scrolling. Built on an injected web layer with several independent fallback defenses.
About
I'm Clay. I build software, network infrastructure, and the underlying hardware. I care strictly about the mechanics of a system and how it operates in practice.
My work centers on the intersection of systems, networking, and security. I prefer ownership over abstraction. By working directly with the infrastructure, I can control the variables and understand the full stack. I've built cloud architecture designed to serve users at scale, shipped a virtual browser used by millions of people, and reconstructed data-loss incidents down to individual filesystem records.
This fall, I'm starting at Purdue to study Computing Infrastructure and Network Engineering Technology. I've spent the last few years focused on building functional, real-world projects, and I learn best by taking complex systems apart and rebuilding them to run better.
